Perinatal Health Resources in the DMV

One of the ways that I serve the families of the DC, Maryland, Virginia area for free is through sharing resources to help every family secure a safe perinatal health provider and location for their labor/birth. It is crucial to locate safe care providers throughout the perinatal journey. Often, families feel at a loss when trying to sift through the many options of care providers whether hey are looking for providers within their insurance network, or whether they are willing to pay out-of-pocket.

If you are planning a hospital birth and are on the hunt for a safe hospital, the absolute best (safest) hospitals that I recommend are George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, Adventist Shady Grove Hospital located in Rockville, MD, Frederick Health Hospital located in Frederick, MD, or Ascension St. Agnes Hospital located in Baltimore, MD. Other hospitals of note are Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA. I make these recommendations based off of my experiences while attending over 400 doula births over the past 10+ years.
